SOFTSWISS Explores What Digital Business Can Learn from iGaming

Beyond IGaming: a Wider View of Digital Growth

The report’s new “Beyond iGaming” chapter compares iGaming with other digitally driven industries, including e-commerce, sports, film, gaming, streaming, e-pharma and crypto.

This broader perspective shaped the event’s central discussion: how digital businesses are responding to the same challenges across different markets, from AI adoption and cybersecurity to regulation, customer acquisition and trust.

One of the new elements we introduced this year is the Digital Maturity Index. We assessed industries across six areas, including AI adoption, mobile-first infrastructure, digital customer acquisition, payments innovation, RegTech and data-driven decision-making. iGaming achieved a score of 4.67 out of 5 – the highest among the eight industries assessed. This shows that there are specific approaches that industries can learn from one another, whether it is how they develop and adopt technology or how they respond to a rapidly changing environment.

From AI Experiments to Business Value

The discussion then moved from digital maturity to a practical question facing companies across industries: how can AI create measurable business value?

Companies are investing in AI across three main areas: employee productivity, secure infrastructure and product development. The next major step will be the wider use of autonomous AI agents in business.

Speakers discussed the growing use of AI in fraud prevention, cybersecurity, risk management, compliance and customer support. They also explored the need for governance, security and human judgment as AI becomes part of critical business processes.

Regulation and the Future of Digital Growth

The conversation also focused on regulation, responsible AI and international expansion.

Speakers examined whether strong compliance capabilities can become a competitive advantage rather than simply a cost of entering a new market. For companies operating across multiple markets, growth requires more than a global product. It also requires local knowledge, market-specific execution and the ability to adapt to changing rules.

Olga Resiga, CBDO at SOFTSWISS, Robin Harrison, Global Content Director B2B at WorldGaming, and Kristina Medvedeva, Head of B2B Marketing at Google, discussed the next billion-dollar growth markets around the world, how AI is changing the way consumers discover, explore and choose brands, and the rapidly evolving regulatory situation in Brazil.

The discussion showed that the 2027 iGaming Trends Report is more than a collection of industry predictions. It provides a starting point for a wider conversation about where digital business is heading and how companies can prepare for the next stage of growth.
